The Georgia Knowledge Repository, an initiative of GALILEO, is a digital archive that includes the academic and intellectual works of Georgia’s colleges and universities. Its purpose is to highlight the scholarship of the participating institutions while also making it available to the citizens of Georgia and the scholarly community at large.

Items in the GKR include journal articles, presentations and speeches, university handbooks, newspapers, newsletters, yearbooks, theses and dissertations and other type of scholarly works.

The Georgia Knowledge Repository (GKR) serves as an online central hub for the academic, public, and community output created in the state of Georgia. As such, the Georgia Knowledge Repository Committee maintains the online presence of the GKR through its website, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for open access to Georgia’s repositories. The committee shares knowledge with the public and fellow member-institutions on repositories, open access, and open educational resources. Ultimately, the committee works collaboratively to preserve and digitize Georgia’s historical and open resources.
